This IS a REAL Event of enormous proportions of devastation - and
long, long lasting effects --- not just for LA.

MAP :: OIL SPILL PROJECTIONS

BP Oil Drilling Disaster: Latest Spill Projections

http://www.healthygulf.org/blog/bp-s-oil-drilling-disaster-in-the-gulf-of-mexico/

(from Gulf Restoration Network)
 _________________________
Map projections for Mississippi do not look good.

We cannot have this happen. It's like a bad dream. It can't really be happening.

The fear and imagery of these projections coming to fruition is beyond comprehention. Long term devastation and massive losses are just too much to take in.

But reality can be cruel. Katrina proved that for sure as we approach the 5 year anniversary with much still to be done relative to recovery.

Oil spill damage involves much, much more and  then, full recovery may not be reached. Just check up on the still-pervading results of the EXXON VALDEZ spill! With those porobabilities in mind, the Gulf Coast faces a truly scary and deeply saddening situation of utmost need for a positive resolution.

LIGHT SWEET CRUDE - MISNOMER

THE GREAT OIL SPILL in THE GULF of MEXICO

Light - of relatively little weight

Sweet - having the taste of sugar;
low in sulfur content : sweet fuel oil.

Crude - being in an unrefined or natural state; raw;

a dark oil consisting of mainly of hydrcarbons.

Hydocarbons - Any class of compounds composed only of carbon  hydrogen. Hydrocarbons are principal constituents of petroleum & natural gas, lubricants, & raw materials for production of plastics, fibres, rubbers, solvents, & industrial chemicals. All burn to carbon dioxide and water with enough  oxygen or to carbon monoxide without it.

All but the simplest hydrocarbons have ISOMERS, see isomerismEthylene,methaneacetylenebenzenetoluene& naphthalene are hydrocarbons.

Misnomer - a name unsuitably applied
to something.

This oil spill violates the sacred place that is OUR Gulf Coast - the shorelines, the economy, the livlihoods,  the ecology, the life forms that live and breed there, the birds that migrate through, and the people who live and breathe the Gulf.

AT THIS TIME - PRAYER IS NEEDED

The OIL SPILL situation is so complicated and issues with it are so variable and unknown that it's easy to feel a helplessness. BUT the people along the coast will persevere to do the things they can do to remediate devastation as much as humanly possible. Other than that, we must call upon God's help.
